Microsoft ActiveSync est le tout dernier logiciel de synchronisation pour les appareils Windows Mobile.
ActiveSync offre instantanément une synchronisation optimale avec les PC fonctionnant sous Windows et Microsoft Outlook. ActiveSync joue le rôle d’une passerelle entre votre PC fonctionnant sous Windows et votre appareil Windows Mobile. Il vous permet de transférer des données Outlook, des documents Office, des images, de la musique, des vidéos et des applications vers et à partir de votre appareil. Outre la synchronisation avec un ordinateur de bureau, ActiveSync se synchronise directement avec Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, ce qui vous permet, grâce à la technologie sans fil, de mettre à jour votre courrier électronique, votre calendrier, vos tâches et contacts lorsque vous n'avez pas votre PC à portée de main.
Les modifications apportées à ActiveSync permettent de résoudre les problèmes de connectivité avec Microsoft Outlook, les serveurs proxy et les partenariats.
Amélioration pour Microsoft Outlook : résolution des problèmes liés au code d’erreur 85010014.
Amélioration de l’interaction Proxy/DTPT : configuration automatique des paramètres du gestionnaire de connexion lorsque l’ordinateur n’a pas d’accès proxy à Internet.
Amélioration du comportement de l’ordinateur lors du passage par un proxy ISA.
Amélioration des partenariats : meilleure prise en charge de plusieurs périphériques portant le même nom et se synchronisant sur le même ordinateur.
Amélioration de la connectivité : meilleure prise en charge des clients VPN (l’adaptateur RNIS corrige la séparation des protocoles) Nouvelle fonction de détection des erreurs de connectivité avec alertes de diagnostic de l’utilisateur.
ActiveSync 4.2 permet la synchronisation avec les PC via un câble USB, la technologie Bluetooth ou une connexion infrarouge.
